Your adventure begins one-half hour before dawn at Sportsman Airpark in Newberg, Oregon.
You'll have the opportunity to join us in the inflation process (or relax and watch). First, we'll unroll the huge lengths of rainbow-colored nylon. Next the crew holds the balloon tight while industrial-size fans breathe life into the fabric. Finally, the propane jets are ignited, and the great balloons rise ten stories into the morning sky.

From I-5
Take Tualatin exit # 289. (Page 685, 684, 714, 713, 743 Thomas Guide) This
is the Tualatin-Sherwood Road. Go west on the Tualatin-Sherwood Road to Hwy 99W in
Sherwood (approx. 5 miles.) Turn left on Hwy 99 W (south) and go about 9 miles into
Newberg. Turn left at the THIRD stoplight onto Springbrook Rd and travel about a
mile; Springbrook will curve and come to Highway 219. Go straight through the
intersection, crossing over Hwy 219. Turn right at the stop sign onto East 9th, turn left on
Commerce Parkway. Our parking lot is on the right next to Western Helicopter. Look for our
yellow check-in tent. Welcome!
From Highway 217
(Page 655, 685, 684, 714, 713,743 Thomas Guide) Take the Tigard exit
and travel west on HWY 99W into Newberg (approx.13 mi.) and follow the above
directions to Sportsman Airpark.
From Hwy 205
Take Hwy 205 south to I-5. Go north on I-5 to Tualatin exit 289 (the first
exit off I-5.) Take a left at the light onto Tualatin-Sherwood Road and follow the above
directions from Tualatin.
From Salem
Take I-5 north to the Aurora/Donald/Champoeg State Park exit. Turn left onto
Ehlen Road, which tries to confuse you by changing names (Yergen, McKay.) The
names won't matter. Just follow that road for about 7 miles until you come to a
T at Highway 219, then turn right and go about 3 miles toward Newberg. Turn left
at the first stop-light onto INDUSTRIAL PARKWAY. Turn right on East 9th St, go
to the end and turn left on Commerce Parkway. Our parking lot will be on your
right. From Salem you can also take Hwy 219 north or Hwy 99 north to Newberg.
From Wilsonville
Another option is to go west on the Wilsonville Road into Newberg (approx 15
miles). Wilsonville Road dead ends at Springbrook Road. Turn left onto
Springbrook Road. Go through the stop-light intersection, crossing over Hwy 219
onto INDUSTRIAL PARKWAY. Turn right onto East 9th street, go to the end and turn
left on Commerce Parkway. Our parking lot is on the right. BE AWARE, (BEWARE!)
Wilsonville Road is extremely curvy and winding, often foggy, and visibility in
the dark is limited. We consider this a better choice for the return trip!
From the West, Lincoln City, Tillamook, McMinnville or Carlton/Gaston:
Take HWY 99W into Newberg (or from Carlton, Hwy 240) you will be traveling North on 99w, continuing through the one way area through Newberg and once the lanes become two way HWY 219 will be immediately on your right. Take Hwy 219 to the right (south) about one mile, go PAST the main entrance to Sportsman Airpark and turn right on Industrial Parkway at the stoplight.
Make an Immediate right on 9th and follow it to where you can only turn left onto Commercial Parkway. Our Yellow check-in tent will be in the gravel parking lot on your right, just before Western Helicopters.
From Seaside and the North Oregon Coast
Take Hwy 26 east to Hwy 217. Go south on
Hwy 217 to Hwy 99W in Tigard and continue west into Newberg. Follow the above
instructions to Sportsman Airpark.
